Visiting Sara and Ken

Hi Everyone!
Sorry I haven't been posting as much this year. I haven't been traveling as much since we don't have very many 4 day weekends anymore. This past weekend, I went down to Okotoks (near Calgary) to see Sara and Ken. The first day Sara and I went down to the local rodeo. I'm sad I didn't bring my camera. We saw this one guy fly something like 10 to 20 feet in the air by the bull he just fell off of. It's far more scarier live than on TV that's for sure. The next day, Sara, Ken and I went down to some little town south of Lethbridge to visit Sara's aunt and uncle. The next day we went tubing down the Milk River and camped out at Writing-on-Stone, which was really awesome. There were hoodoos and native writing on the stone.

Oh... The weather in Alberta...

Hello everyone,
I finally made it back from the field today because of bad weather... you guessed it. It's snowing. I woke up this morning to find a blizzard outside my window. This is quite a change from the 17-18 degree weather we've had for the past week. Even the willows and birch trees are confused and are already budding.
Here are some photos of what it looked like outside this morning, which is probably the first time I've ever seen snow during the May 2-4 weekend.

That's it for now. The internet here is painfully slow, so I can only do so much.

Field Season #2

Hi Everyone!
It's that time again, May is almost here!
I will be leaving Ottawa for the field site on May 3rd. I will try to keep up with my posts again this year, but like last year, the posts will be every two weeks.
This summer, I intend on visiting the Okanagan again, only this time my parents will be there to join me. I will also take a couple of trips down to Calgary to visit my friends Sara and Ken. And last but not least, I hope to see Suzanne in BC and the beautiful rocky mountains. Now, Brady has said that he's going to come and visit me sometime this summer and hopefully that happens.

One more field season, meaning 16 weeks of bugs, camp fires, little to no showers and sleeping in tents. I will post more photos of camp life. I'm kind of excited and worried all at the same time (in terms of camp life) since I know this summer will be completely different than last year and I'm not exactly sure what to expect.
